Equipment List


  • Large pot or Dutch oven

Ingredients


  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small yellow onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 16 oz orzo pasta
  • 2 c chicken broth (low sodium)
  • 2 c whole milk
  • 1/4 c heavy cream
  • 1/2 c white wine
  • 2 c spinach leaves (chopped & packed)
  • 1 1/2 c freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • kosher salt to taste
  • freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 Tbsp butter

Cooking Instructions


  • Preheat to 90°F
  • Add olive oil to pan
  • Add 1 Tbsp butter to pan
  • Add onion to pan
  • Add garlic, orzo, salt, & pepper to pan
  • Saute ingredients
  • Add broth, milk, cream, & wine to pan.
  • Stir ingredients.
  • Cover & let simmer.
  • Stir ingredients
  • Add spinach & parmesan cheese
  • Stir until combined.
  • Add salt & pepper, if needed

Finishing Instructions


  • Top with extra chopped spinach or parmesan cheese, if desired.
  • To make a complete meal, add diced, cooked chicken.
